This Privacy Policy describes how Zaibatsu Heavy Industries ("we," "us," "our," or the "Developer") collects, uses, and shares information in connection with your use of Lyric Machine (the "App").

By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with this Privacy Policy, please do not use the App.

This Privacy Policy is incorporated into and subject to our Terms and Conditions.

2. Our Privacy Commitment

Lyric Machine is designed with privacy as a fundamental principle. We have made deliberate architectural decisions to minimize data collection:

  • WE DO NOT COLLECT PERSONAL DATA
  • WE DO NOT TRACK YOUR ACTIVITY
  • WE DO NOT HAVE SERVERS THAT RECEIVE YOUR DATA
  • WE DO NOT SELL OR SHARE DATA WITH THIRD PARTIES

3. Information We Do Not Collect

To be absolutely clear, we DO NOT collect:

  • Your name, email address, or contact information
  • Your location data
  • Your device identifiers (IDFA, IDFV, or similar)
  • Your IP address
  • Your browsing or search history
  • The text you input into the App
  • The output generated by the App
  • Usage analytics or telemetry data
  • Crash reports (unless you explicitly opt-in through iOS)
  • Any biometric data
  • Any financial or payment information (App Store handles all purchases)

4. Data Stored on Your Device

The App stores certain data locally on your device to provide its functionality. This data never leaves your device and is not accessible to us:

4.1 User Preferences

  • Selected theme
  • Panel configurations
  • RSS feed settings (enabled/disabled feeds)
  • Custom RSS feeds you've added
  • Onboarding completion status

4.2 Processing Storage

  • UserDefaults for persistent preferences
  • Standard iOS local storage mechanisms

All locally stored data is subject to your device's security settings and may be included in iCloud backups if you have enabled iCloud backup for your device through iOS settings. We have no access to or control over iCloud backups.

5. Third-Party Data Connections

5.1 RSS Feed Providers

When you use the "Load News" feature, your device connects directly to third-party RSS feed providers. These connections:

  • Are made directly from your device to the feed provider
  • Are not routed through our servers
  • Are not monitored, logged, or intercepted by us
  • Are subject to the privacy policies of the respective feed providers

Default feed providers may include:

  • BBC (bbc.co.uk)
  • Sky News (news.sky.com)
  • ESPN (espn.com)
  • RTÉ (rte.ie)
  • The New York Times (nytimes.com)

We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any RSS feed providers you use.

5.2 Apple App Store

The App is distributed through the Apple App Store. Apple may collect certain information as described in Apple's Privacy Policy (apple.com/privacy). This includes:

  • App download and update information
  • Purchase information (if applicable)
  • Crash logs (if you've enabled sharing with developers)

We may receive aggregated, anonymized analytics from Apple about App downloads and usage, but this data cannot identify individual users.

5.3 No Other Third-Party Services

The App does not integrate with:

  • Advertising networks
  • Analytics platforms (Google Analytics, Firebase, etc.)
  • Social media platforms
  • Customer service platforms
  • Marketing automation tools
  • Any other third-party tracking or data collection services

6. How We Use Information

Since we do not collect personal information, we do not use personal information.

The only data we may receive is aggregated, anonymized data from Apple about App downloads, which we may use to:

  • Understand general App popularity and trends
  • Make decisions about App development and updates
  • Analyze App Store performance

7. Data Security

While we do not collect or store your data on our servers, we are committed to ensuring the App is designed with security best practices:

  • The App follows iOS security guidelines
  • Local data is stored using iOS standard secure storage
  • We do not transmit your personal data over networks

However, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of data stored locally on your device.

YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR:

  • Maintaining the security of your device
  • Your device's passcode and biometric settings
  • iCloud backup settings
  • Any third-party apps that may access your device data

8. Children's Privacy

We do not knowingly collect any information from children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age of digital consent in your jurisdiction).

The App contains no data collection mechanisms regardless of user age. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with information, please contact us. Since we do not collect data, we will not have any such information to delete.

9. Your Rights and Choices

9.1 Data Access and Deletion

Since we do not collect personal data, there is no personal data for us to provide or delete. You can delete all locally stored App data by:

  • Deleting the App from your device
  • Using iOS Settings to clear App data

9.2 RSS Feed Choices

You can control which RSS feeds the App connects to through the Settings menu. You can disable all feeds to prevent any third-party connections.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected in the App with an updated "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy.

If we make material changes, we may notify you through the App. Your continued use of the App after any changes indicates your acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.

We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically.
